Being a woman in film is thought of as being more difficult than if you were a man. Being a woman in front of the camera is also more difficult. There are more men on screen than women by a ratio of 3 to 1. Every year there is an event called Women in Entertainment. There is a day of panels and keynote speeches by influential women in the business. I was there this year and watched the whole day. I met Geena Davis and many other amazing and inspiring women. I have recently written an article about women in film and how challenging it is to be a women in film. It was held at the Arclight Dome in Hollywood. The Arclight Dome is over 50 years old! It was built in 1963, which is the same year that J.F.K was assassinated in Dallas, Texas and the same year that the first woman went into space, Valentina Tereshkova who is age 78 and still alive today. I had so much fun. I can’t wait to go back next year.
