Agnosia is a form of Alzheimers and that was what the movie is about. I don’t want to explain too much about the movie as I don’t want to ruin the plot however I do play one of the leads, the granddaughter of the man who has Agnosia. He disappears from home and I have to find him. This film is an independent film which is also known as an indie film. The great thing about filming an indie film is how many roles you have to take on. You are not just one role like producer, you are producer, catering and costume. It varies depending on what set but most of the time you help out in anyway you can to make the film better. Budgets can be less than studio budgets but this can be a good thing, allowing you to be creative and make decisions last minute if things need changing. Our director Shawn Welling was excellent at being able to make any place or event relevant to the film and so we shot things we didn’t even know were going to be in the film. We arrived and had to go straight onto set and film our first scenes. These were shot at a ranch that was specifically for acting animals. In one of the scenes I had to have a Tarantula crawl up my leg so instead of me doing it, my mum was my leg double and she had the spider crawl up her leg! After the first day of shooting, we drove straight to our cabin and unpacked. Throughout the 10 days of shooting I came across rattlesnakes, tarantula’s, wolves, foxes, bobcats, jeeps, carriages, dresses and so much more! Agnosia should be finished in a couple of months so I will let you know when it’s ready to watch!
